Nostell Priory Excavations
Weir and Sluice Gate 10-11 October 2009

A continuation of the excavations of discovered Roman pottery and ditches which were discovered whilst preparing to make a new car park at the Priory.  The National Trust employed 'On Site' Archaeology as the main contractors who invited South Leeds and other groups to conitnue with the excavation.

A lot of pottery was removed from the site and ditches which were cut into the loose sandstone bedrock were discovered.
